Our meetings are opened with the ritual, prayer, pledge and the salute to our flags and closed by singing Dixie. We have five new members, 24 real daughters, 12 honorary members, four deceased. There are 10 meetings, business and historical using Historical General outline.

We have observed the birthday of General Lee, Maurey Jackson, Sidney Lanier and Jefferson Davis.

We have 15 subscriptions to the UDC magazine, including three to schools and one to City Library. There are four new subscribers.

All dues and assessments were sent in by March 1, our quota for the Richmond Home was completed in 1955. We have a yearbook. We cleared $60.00 on a shopping project, we placed a history book on the United Daughters of the Confederacy in the Genealogy department of the Houston Library. One History was given to the David O. Dodd Chapter, Children of the Confederacy. Eleven Confederate flags, and one book of poems to a church library. Three history books were given to two High Schools and one to a university. Boxes of cards were sent to two Confederate Veterans widows in the Confederate Home on birthdays and other occasions.

Members visited Col. Walter Williams, Confederate Veteran in his home, presenting him with gifts, fruit and a sum of $30.00, remembering his birthday also.

Our shut-ins are remembered with cards and flowers. Our flags have been placed at all funeral services of our deceased members. Over 1,500 Christmas cards were delivered to Faith Home Orphanage. Two overcoats to Goodwill and over 30 pounds of clothing to the Salvation Army, 600 pounds to the Boy Scouts. Twenty magazines to the Veterans Hospital.

Volunteer hours 141 Veterans Hospital, 4 hours Red Cross. We have had over 80 inches of publicity, including one large picture.

On 26 July 1994 our insignia (logo) was also approved by the Patent Trademark Office of the United States. Therefore they are not to be used without permission and when displayed must have the copyright symbol. As stated in the 1997 UDC Bylaws on page 41, Article 34 Insignia Section 2, a & b.
