Chapter Report [p. 116]

Has held regular meetings during the year, excepting the summer months.

Had five historical meetings, both instructive and entertaining due to the combined efforts of our Historian and Musical Director.

Assisted Robert E. Lee Chapter in observing Lee’s birthday, January 19th; also held appropriate exercises on Davis’ natal day, June 3rd, in Dick Dowling Camp room.

Paid all Chapter pledges.

Send delegates to both conventions.

Received four new members.

Made applications for a number of Crosses of Honor.

Met jointly with Robert E. Lee Chapter and made over three hundred wreaths for Memorial Day.

Sent appropriate floral offerings and letters of sympathy to members whose loved ones have “Crossed over the river.”

Sold miniature Confederate flags May 17th and realized more than 1365 to defray expenses of Veterans to Chattanooga reunion and E. B. Bates Auxiliary had the honor of sending the Camp Sponsor, Miss Cleo Day.

The Battle of Sabine Pass is celebrated annually by Dick Dowling Camp and a basket dinner was provided and served at Colonial Park by members of this and the Robert E. Lee Chapter to the Camp and their guests from neighboring towns.

On 26 July 1994 our insignia (logo) was also approved by the Patent Trademark Office of the United States. Therefore they are not to be used without permission and when displayed must have the copyright symbol. As stated in the 1997 UDC Bylaws on page 41, Article 34 Insignia Section 2, a & b.
