Celebrated R. E. Lee’s and Jackson’s birthdays jointly. Decorated veteran graves on Memorial Day.

E. Bennett Bates Auxiliary organized under the auspices of Oran M. Roberts Chapter, organizing with 11 members, but as this was done on the eve of the summer vacation, not much was done.

There is a slight discrepancy between the amount of dues paid and the list of registered members, this was owing to the delay in getting a correct list from the State Registrar.

Donated to two veterans for railroad transportation, respectively $15 and $6. Widows and Wives’ Home Fund was given $100; $25 was donated by Chapter and given by Delegates at Waco Convention. Mrs. Randal Stevens and Mrs. J. M. Gibson each subscribed $5 which was afterward sent to Mrs. Baugh of San Antonio. Through the Chapter has been given over $800 toward the Widows and Wives’ Home; $200 given by the Chapter and the balance raised by Mrs. Zumwalt and her committee; $1 was sent to Richmond, VA for benefit of Texas Museum.

Floral offerings were sent all deceased members and Confederate veterans. Reagan’s birthday was celebrated with appropriate exercises. Very impressive memorial services were held jointly by R. E. Lee and Oran M. Roberts Chapters and Dick Dowling Camp, UCV, in memory of Mrs. Jefferson Davis. Also a telegram of condolence was sent to Mrs. Davis’ daughter, Mrs. Hayes. Gave $50 for YMCA Building Fund; $50 was sent to the UDC sufferers of the California disaster.
