On Saturday, October 19, 2002, the Descendants of James S. Shuffield will assemble for the "Annual Shuffield/Sheffield Family Reunion" at Beaís Kitchen, 101 E. Main St. in Cameron, Milam County, Texas from 9am to 5pm. Catered lunch will be served at noon, cost $6 per person.
James S. Shuffield was born in 1824 and was married to Martha Speed. There were eight children:
James and his family moved to Milam County, Texas in about 1869 from Bartow County, Georgia (known before the Civil War as Cass County, Georgia). There is no information on the parents of James or his wife, Martha. The couple is buried in the Little River Cemetery, near Jones Prairie, with many of their children and other descendants.

"Eight Years of DAR Service - An Exhibit Honoring the Alexander Love Chapterís 80th Anniversary" will be shown at the Julia Ideson Building (1st floor), Houston Public Library, 500 McKinney Ave., Houston, Texas during the month of November 2002.
