It’s Almost Fall and Time for Genealogy Seminars!

On Saturday, Sept. 9th from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the COASTAL BEND GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY SYMPOSIUM will take place at the Lindale Senior Center (behind Ray High School) 3135 Swantner Dr. 78404, Corpus Christi, Texas. On Saturday, Sept. 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the MESQUITE HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY will conduct a workshop on “Comprehensive Tennessee Research with Charles A. On Saturday, September 16th from 9:30 a.m. to noon the DESCENDANTS OF THE MEXAICAN WAR VETERANS will hold their Annual Meeting at the University of Texas at Arlington Special Collections Library Parlor (UTA Main Library, 6th Floor). Activities: Regular business meeting followed by a guest speaker and a tour of the Jenkins Garrett Library, which houses one of the best collections of U.S.-Mexican War materials in the United States. The Texas Historical Commission (THC) and the University of Texas Center for American History will host the annual WINEDALE MUSEUM SEMINAR from Nov. 5th through 16th at the Winedale Historical Center near Round Top. The Winedale Museum Seminar is open each year to 20 professionals and experienced volunteers affiliated with museums or historical organizations. The application deadline for the 2000 seminar is Sept. 19th. In this column, I will be glad to highlight and review any family history, genealogy, county history, or similar book, free of charge, if you donate a copy of the book or item.
